““In 1949 our grandfather died of cancer, leaving our mother, Martha, a six-year-old orphan. He left her a piece of land that later, as a single mother of three, she did not have the resources to develop. When our mother passed away in 1999, she left this land to us, her children, and we have since worked to commemorate mum’s devotion. We are now thrilled to introduce Martha’s Farmhouse. As a family, we built the farmhouse, named it after mum and surrounded it with a coffee, vanilla and banana farm. We are proud that Martha’s Farmhouse is a hospitality social enterprise open to paying guests and the largest employer in the village. All produce is locally sourced improving community livelihoods and protecting the environment. We hope our story inspires you, and our family would love to host you.” -”
